Nisku, AB, Nov. 29, 2022—Precise Downhole Solutions™, creators of the Oura™ Intelligent Electric Valve and other high-performance downhole instrumentation products, announced today the first technology collaboration with distributed optical sensing technologies experts, AP Sensing. Launching the next generation of Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), the FBG Barcode™ is designed for harsh environments, particularly in extreme oil and gas applications.
The FBG Barcode™, the newest innovation from Precise and AP Sensing, will allow operators to conveniently take steps toward achieving their performance goals and unleash the full potential of their reservoirs.
After years of research, development, and testing, Precise and AP Sensing will introduce the technology at the upcoming Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Thermal Well Integrity and Production Symposium on Nov. 29. FBG Barcode can be pre-ordered online at https://www.precisedhs.com/
FBG Barcode Details:
With the FBG Barcode, operators have a permanent, embedded FBG sensor in their DTS fiber that will serve as independent temperature reference point(s). This ensures that our clients get extremely accurate DTS measurements, even in the most challenging environments.
Another benefit of the FBG Barcode is the elimination of additional temperature reference sensors, such as thermocouples, which are commonly used to verify the fiber data.
“It is with great happiness and genuine excitement that we announce the release of the FBG Barcode,” said Dan Keough, Director of PureLight™ at Precise Downhole Solutions. “This new technology offers industry leading accuracy in DTS fiber systems. This is a game changer for temperature sensing in challenging wells.”
